Wrenn Brothers, North Carolina, signed stoneware jar, circa 1880, of tapered cylindrical form with broad rolled rim and opposing lug handles. The vessel is covered in a rich, glossy dark brown glaze and bears an impressed “WRENN” mark at the shoulder. A substantial example of nineteenth-century North Carolina utilitarian pottery, made for practical food storage and distinguished by its signed maker’s mark. 12" mint condition as fired from the aritst.
