Willie L. Tarver (1932–2010), Wadley, Georgia, self-taught folk-art welded metal sculpture depicting two animated long-necked animals locked together in a lively figural composition. Constructed from found and torch-cut metal with heavy textured welds and selective red and white painted details. Tarver transformed the welding skills acquired during his working life into a distinctive sculptural vocabulary, creating animals, human figures and fantastic creatures from discarded metal. His work is represented in the permanent collection of the Telfair Museums. 12"x16"
