Ben Owen III (b. 1968, Seagrove, North Carolina) Jugtown-influenced pottery vase of rounded form with short neck, the textured stoneware body accented by a deep cobalt-blue glaze concentrated around the shoulder and neck. Owen began learning pottery from his grandfather as a child and apprenticed within his family's celebrated Seagrove pottery tradition. His mature work combines generations of North Carolina craftsmanship with Asian ceramic forms and sophisticated glaze experimentation. 5" mint condition as fired from the aritst.
