Ben Owen III (b. 1968, Seagrove, North Carolina) art pottery vase of rounded ovoid form, covered in a striking Chinese Red glaze with irregular cream-colored areas creating a dramatic abstract surface. Owen represents a multigenerational North Carolina pottery tradition and began working with his grandfather at an early age before earning his BFA from East Carolina University. His work combines traditional North Carolina pottery forms with strong Asian influences and extensive experimentation with glazes, and examples are held in numerous museum collections. 4" mint condition as fired from the aritst.
