Mose Tolliver (ca. 1920–2006) was a celebrated Alabama self-taught artist whose paintings on found wood became nationally recognized examples of Southern outsider art. This folk art painting depicts a large spotted animal in profile, rendered in gray, white, black and red against a light ground with a red painted border. Signed “MOSE T” beneath the figure. Tolliver characteristically signed his works “Mose T,” often with a backward “s.” 15"x7"
