David Russell Meaders (1951–2020), Cleveland, Georgia, Southern folk pottery pitcher, wheel-thrown with a dark alkaline glaze and boldly decorated with applied clusters of individually modeled grapes to either side. Meaders came from the celebrated multigenerational Meaders pottery family of Mossy Creek in White County, Georgia. He joined the family pottery tradition in 1984 with guidance from his uncle Edwin “Nub” Meaders, continuing one of northeast Georgia’s most important folk pottery traditions. His work is represented in the Smithsonian American Art Museum. 10" mint condition as fired from the aritst.
