Willie Jinks (1921–2012) was a self-taught Georgia artist born in Locust Grove who later worked for the Atlanta sanitation department and transformed discarded and found materials into distinctive works of folk art. This painting depicts a large colorful bird in red, brown, green and black against a white ground accented with scattered red, green and black marks. Boldly inscribed “JEJ BIRD” within the composition and signed Willie Jinks along the lower edge. Painted frame incorporated into the work. 21"x16"
