Mac Leonard signed North Carolina pottery jar, wheel-thrown with straight cylindrical body, rounded shoulder and flared rim, covered overall in a rich streaked brown glaze. The visible impressed “ML” mark appears at the shoulder. A handsome example of traditional North Carolina utilitarian pottery, retaining the strong proportions and glaze character associated with regional stoneware production. Reliable published biographical dates for Mac Leonard were not located, so no dates have been assigned. 8" mint condition as fired from the aritst.
