Early American punched-tin lantern, likely nineteenth century, of rectangular architectural form with glass panels, pierced tin reflector/back panel, projecting chimney and wire side supports. The punched decoration was designed to allow points of candlelight to escape while the glass protected the flame from drafts. Retains an appropriately aged dark surface with oxidation and wear consistent with utilitarian lighting equipment. 12"
