Charles "Charlie" Moore (1935–2017), North Carolina studio pottery rooster, hand modeled with an elongated body, tall neck and dramatically arched tail. Incised feather decoration covers the body, wings and neck, while turquoise-blue glaze accents the head and tail against the natural gray stoneware surface. Moore became particularly known for his imaginative pottery animals and chicken sculptures, creating individually modeled works with distinctive surface treatments and expressive folk-art character. 8"x8" mint condition as fired from the aritst.
